The organisation was originally named “Dundee Union of Boys Clubs” when
it was first formed in 1932. It was renamed Tayside Federation of Boys
Clubs in 1975. A further name change took place a few years later when
the Girls title was inserted. In 2006 our name finally changed to the
Clubs for Young People Tayside (CYP Tayside)
The organisation provides a considerable amount of events and activities
within the Tayside
Region, for example Five and Eleven a Side Football, Golf, Snooker and
Pool to name a few staged at local, regional and eventually national
level.
In addition to the activities, young people have the opportunity to
go on education trips to places such as Canada, Poland and Hungary.
Adventure weekends are offered to our members which run in Perthshire.
The association employs a part-time Development Officer, responsible for
raising the number of clubs in membership and creating new opportunities
for its members. |
