The annual Galston “sevens” festival provided
its usual fun for all participants. Run over Saturday and Sunday
and entertaining over 700 young people this event is a must for
all local clubs.
Now in
its 11th year the tournament is here to stay and
Clubs for Young People are delighted to sponsor the event. The
work involved in running this event is well demonstrated by the
efficient way in which it is run. The dedication of the
voluntary leaders from Galston is second to none.
A quote
from Neil Warnock, Manager Sheffield United Football Club-
“I am
very aware of the time, effort and patience and dedication
necessary to prepare such an event. An event I must add of
tremendous participation of some 70 odd clubs, a fantastic
achievement with congratulations to organisers, coaches and and
course parents”
The
weather was not very kind this year with an overcast Saturday
and a very wet Sunday afternoon. This did not however manage to
dampen the enthusiasm of any of the participants who all
demonstrated good sportsmanship and a high level of skill.
A
tremendous weekend was had by all.
